Gambling addiction caused by Parkinson's disease medication?

There are several reports that people using certain medications developed gambling addiction.

Mirapex, a popular drug used for Parkinson's disease, could be linked to the problem of compulsive gambling

An article published in the recent issue of Archives of Neurology by Mayo Clinic academics writes that some patients using the drug Mirapex or similar medications developed an addiction to gambling.

11 people suffering from Parkinson's decease, who were on the medication, developed the unusual problem between 2002 and 2004, as 14 more patients have been identified with the same problem since then. The phenomenon is being confirmed by other reports from doctors who weren't involved in the Mayo study, who describe the similar problem with some of their Parkinson's patients.

A retired CA government worker claims his gambling addiction problem began when he was using Mirapex. Moreover, the problem stopped when he stopped using the drug.
